In the Powerstroke community, these are commonly referred to as Stage 1 or AC-code High Output injectors. The numbers "160/0" tell you a very specific story about how they deliver fuel:

• 160cc Capacity: These injectors hold 160 cubic millimeters of fuel, which is a significant bump up over standard factory injectors (stock units are typically 90cc on older trucks and 130–140cc on later models).

• 0% Nozzle Size: The "0" means they retain the factory sized stock nozzle holes. This keeps your fuel atomization, how finely the fuel sprays into the cylinder, smooth and controlled, ensuring you don’t end up with excess smoke or high exhaust gas temperatures.

By pairing more fuel capacity with stock nozzles, you get a clean, highly efficient combustion stroke that typically boosts your truck to 325–375 horsepower when combined with standard modifications like a custom tune, intake, and exhaust.

Because the older trucks ran single shots from the factory, these will actually run smoothly on your stock computer settings without mandatory custom tuning. However, to truly tap into that 300+ horsepower potential, we highly recommend adding a custom tuner and upgrading to a billet compressor wheel or a drop-in turbo kit (like the KC Turbos Stage 1) to keep up with the extra fuel.

For 1998.5–2003 Trucks

Later 7.3L trucks came from the factory with split shot injectors (which fire a tiny pre-shot of fuel to quiet the engine down). Because the Stock Plus 160/0 is a single shot injector, it is more efficient, but it does require custom tuning to let your truck's computer know how to fire them. The bonus? You don't need to replace your factory turbo or fuel lines to run these safely, though an upgraded HPOP will ensure they get all the oil pressure they want.
